Generally, a public charity is a charitable firm that has broad public support and actively uses it to support another public charity. It is true exclusively to testing for public safety. Donations to public charities are totally tax-deductible to the area of the law.

Private foundations are also charitable firms but do not qualify as public charities. Many times they regularly are non-profits that were set with funds from a single source or specific sources, such as family protection.
