How To Configure Email Account On Apple Mac Mail

Email
  1. Open System Preferences.
     
  2. Click Internet Accounts.
     

     
  3. Click Add Other Account...
     

     
  4. Click Mail Account.
     

     
  5. Enter your email address and password, click Sign In button.
     

     
  6. Please make sure the following fields are filled in:

    Username: your full email address
    Account Type: IMAP (preferred) or POP
    Incoming Mail Server: mail.your-domain-name.com
    Outgoing Mail Server: mail.your-domain-name.com

    Click Sign In button.
     

     
  7. Make sure Mail is ticked. Click Done button.
     

     
  8. You may now launch Apple Mail application to work on your emails.
     
  9. To verify your settings, please click Preferences in the Apple Mail application.
     

     
  10. Click Accounts tab, then click Server Settings sub-tab.
     
    IMAP
    Please ensure the username, password, and server host name are correct.
    Tick "Automatically manage connection settings" checkboxes.

    If you untick "Automatically manage connection settings", make sure:
    Port number: 143
    Untick TLS/SSL
    Authentication: MD5 Challenge-Response

    POP
    Please ensure the username, password, and server host name are correct. 
    Tick "Automatically manage connection settings" checkboxes.

    If you untick "Automatically manage connection settings", make sure:
    Port number: 110
    Untick TLS/SSL
    Authentication: Authenticated POP (APOP)

    SMTP
    Please ensure the username, password, and server host name are correct. 
    Tick "Automatically manage connection settings" checkboxes.

    If you untick "Automatically manage connection settings", make sure:
    Port number: 587
    Untick TLS/SSL
    Authentication: MD5 Challenge-Response


     
  11. Click Save button if you have made changes.
