How To Configure Email Account On Android Gmail App

Email
  1. Launch GMail application on your Android phone.
     
  2. Click menu icon, click Settings, click Add Account.
     

     

     

     
  3. At the Set up email screen, click Other.
     

     
  4. Enter your email address, click Next button.
     

     
  5. Click Personal (IMAP).
     

     
  6. Enter your password, click Next button.
     

     
  7. At the Incoming server settings screen, make sure:
    Username: your full email address
    Password: your correct password
    Server: mail.your-domain-name.com
     

     
  8. At the Certificate not valid prompt, click Advanced, scroll to bottom, and click Proceed Anyway.
     

     

     
  9. At the Outgoing server settings screen, make sure:
    Require sign-in: on
    Username: your full email address
    Password: your correct password
    Server: mail.your-domain-name.com
     

     
  10. At the Certificate not valid prompt, click Advanced, scroll to bottom, and click Proceed Anyway.
     

     

     
  11. At the Account options screen, configure options as per your requirement, and click Next button.
     

     
  12. At the next screen, configure Account Name and Your Name as per your requirement, and click Next button.
     

     
  13. Setup is completed.

Verify Settings

  1. Click menu icon, click Settings, click the email address you would like to verify / modify, scroll to bottom.
     

     
  2. Click Incoming settings, make sure:
    Username: your full email address
    Password: your correct password
    Server: mail.your-domain-name.com
    Port: 143
    Security type: STARTTLS (accept all certificates)
     

     
  3. Click Outgoing settings, make sure:
    Require sign-in: on
    Username: your full email address
    Password: your correct password
    Server: mail.your-domain-name.com
    Port: 587
    Security type: STARTTLS (accept all certificates)
